9Cr18MoV = 90Cr18MoV

9Cr18MoV stainless steel is a high carbon martensitic stainless steel, and mainly used to manufacture parts that resist strong friction and work in corrosive media, such as stainless steel blades, mechanical cutting tools, surgical blades, measuring tools, and other high-wear parts.

The performance and use of 90Cr18MoV or 9Cr18MoV steel is similar to 9Cr18. Due to the addition of molybdenum (Mo) and vanadium (V), the thermal strength and tempering resistance are better than 9Cr18 steel.

Mechanical Properties of 9Cr18MoV Stainless Steel

  • 9Cr18MoV material hardness: ≥55 HRC (Quenching and tempering);
  • Material hardness: ≤269 HBW (Annealing)

Typical Heat Treatment Specification

For steel bar

  • Annealing: 800 – 920 ℃ (Slow cooling)
  • Quenching: 1050 – 1075 ℃ (Oil cooling)
  • Tempering: 100 – 200 ℃ (Rapid cooling)
