Chinese GB standard 45 steel is a quality carbon structural steel, the cold plasticity is common. Annealing and normalizing are slightly better than quenching and tempering, and have high strength and good machinability. A certain degree of toughness, plasticity and wear resistance can be obtained after appropriate heat treatment. Suitable for hydrogen welding and argon arc welding, not suitable for gas welding. Preheating is required before welding, and stress relief annealing should be performed after welding.

45 steel is a common material for shaft parts. After quenching and tempering (or normalizing), it can obtain better cutting performance, and can obtain high mechanical strength such as high strength and toughness. The surface hardness after quenching can reach 45-52 HRC.
#45 material is widely used in mechanical manufacturing and high-strength moving parts, such as turbine impellers, compressor pistons, shafts, gears, racks, steel wire and wire ropes.
40Cr steel and other alloy steels are suitable for shaft parts with medium precision and high speed. These steels have good comprehensive mechanical properties after quenching and quenching.
